TÜBİTAK – The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) Read and Publish Agreement (2026-2028)

Under the TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM EKUAL Project, a "Read and Publish" agreement has been implemented between TÜBİTAK and The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), covering the 2026-2028 period.

Under this agreement:

  • Content Access: You can access RSC journals across various fields, including biology, physics, medicine, and engineering. Access is available from as early as 2008 to the present, depending on the specific journal.

  • Open Access Publishing Support: You can publish your articles as “Open Access” without paying an Article Processing Charge (APC), provided they meet specific criteria.

Open Access Article Publication Criteria:

  • Scope: The agreement applies to articles accepted in both Hybrid and Gold Open Access Journals. For articles accepted between January 1, 2026, and the official signing date of the agreement, authors may request retrospective Open Access status.

  • Quota System: There is a nationwide annual quota (a total of 255 articles for 2026). A “first-come, first-served” principle applies. If the quota is exhausted at the time of acceptance, the APC will be the author’s responsibility. In such cases:

    • In Hybrid journals, you may choose to publish under “closed access.”

    • In Gold journals, you must cover the APC personally to proceed.

  • Corresponding Author: To benefit from this agreement, the “Corresponding Author” must be a member of our Institute’s active academic staff.

  • Mandatory Institutional E-mail: It is mandatory to use the institutional e-mail address during the article submission process.

Important Note: Before submitting your manuscript, it is highly recommended that you check whether the journal is Hybrid or Gold and review the “RSC Author Workflow” steps.
