The final year of the Open Access agreement signed between TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM and Springer Nature, covering the period of 2024-2026, has become active as of January 1, 2026.

TÜBİTAK – ULAKBİM and Springer Nature Read-and-Publish Agreement

Within the scope of the Open Access Article Publishing (Read and Publish) Agreement, IZTECH authors have the opportunity to publish in Springer Nature hybrid journals without paying Article Processing Charges (APC).

APC support covers “Original Article”, “Review Article”, and “Continuing Education” types published in Q1 and Q2 group Springer Nature Hybrid Journals indexed in the Web of Science (SCI, SSCI, AHCI). To qualify for OA support, the corresponding author must be an employee of an EKUAL member institution and the institution’s name must be listed under their name in the publication. Using institutional email addresses during the submission process will accelerate the approval procedure.

Under this agreement, the annual OA publication quota for all universities in Türkiye is 3,094 articles. APC support will continue until this quota is reached. Please note that there is no specific “OA article quota allocation” for individual institutions. Once an article is accepted, it will be queued based on the submission date if the corresponding author requests OA. Approval for OA publication will be granted by ULAKBİM for eligible articles as long as the quota remains available. If the annual quota is exhausted, authors wishing to publish their work as Open Access will be responsible for the APC fees, either personally or through a funding agency.
